ANDREW J. “A.J.” PERKINSON


FRANKLINTON —Andrew Jackson “A.J.” Perkinson, 78, died Monday evening, Feb. 7, 2011 at Duke-Raleigh Hospital. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville. Burial, with military honors provided by American Legion Post 52, followed in Fairview Cemetery.

He was born in Vance County to the late Blair and Lila Faulkner Perkinson. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville and was the founder of the Franklinton Rescue & EMS, and was an active member of American Legion Post 52; 40/8 Voiture 1174.

Surviving: wife, Anne L. Perkinson of Louisburg; daughter, Angie Callihan (Joel) of Franklinton; stepsons, Vic Rogers (Jackie) of Youngsville, Johnny Rogers of Louisburg, and Billy Rogers of Durham; sisters, Lucy Simpson of Texas and Virginia Asbury of Henderson; one grandchild; two step-grandchilldren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Zelma Perkinson.
