RALEIGH - Alma Rouse Thomas, 88, formerly of Kinston, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 in Raleigh.  Funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 13, at First Baptist Church in Kinston, with Dr. Chuck Towery officiating. Burial followed in Westview Cemetery.

She was a retired school teacher and was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Thomas Sr.

Surviving: her son, William J. Thomas Jr. (Jane) of Louisburg; daughter, Alyce A. Broome (Chris) of California; brothers, Kenneth Rouse (Marilyn) of Arizona, and Harold Rouse (Miggie) of Virginia; and two grandchildren.
