LOUISBURG - Alice Eakes Horton, 91, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 at Franklin Oaks Nursing Center in Louisburg. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Bobby Shinault officiating. Burial will follow in the Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Rosa Annie Tant Eakes and Robert Marshall Eakes. In addition to her parents, she  was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Cleveland Horton; four sons, two sisters, and a brother.

Surviving: daughters, Helen Cash and Margie Pearce, both of Louisburg; sister Nadine Eakes of Louisburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family from 7 to 8:30  tonight (Wednesday, Feb.  16) at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.
