LOUISBURG - Myrtle Wiggins Bailey, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at her home. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 25, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Haley and the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County to the late J.W. “Fatback” Wiggins and Aurelia Emily “Sissie” Bridges Wiggins. She worked at Burlington Industries and also helped run the family farm.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ora Wiggins, Mamie Hill, Elsie Mangum, Mozelle Wheeler, Bessie Cooke and Lola Place; brothers, Stephen, Woodrow and Haywood Wiggins.

Surviving: husband, Raymond Bailey; sons, James Bailey (Martha), Tony Bailey (Shelia); five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
