FRANKLINTON —Virgil Knight, 86, died Monday, June 20, 2011 in Louisburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 22) at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, with the Rev. Carl Hunter officiating. A private burial will be held following the funeral.

He was a native of Midnight, Miss., and was the son of the late Oscar and Myra Ferguson Knight. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Surviving: wife, Janie Dunagin; daughter, Myra Knight Klein (Emery) of Franklinton; brothers, Jimmy Knight of Tennessee and W. B. Knight of Mississippi; sister, Hannah Henderson of Mississippi; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mt. Olivet Church Road, Franklinton, NC 27525.
