JAMES E. WILLIAMSON JR.


FRANKLINTON —James Edward Williamson Jr., 79, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at his home. Funeral services were held Monday, June 27, at Manasseh Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. Claude Dunston officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Franklinton.

He was born in Franklinton to the late James Edward and Annie Brown Williamson. He grew up on the family farm. After retirement from Colonial Stores Inc. of Raleigh, he returned to life on the farm.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcellette Campbell Williamson; sisters, Orleans Williamson and Frances Gay; and four brothers, Shelby, Wesley, Joe and Gilbert Williamson.

Surviving: daughter, Michelle Smith (Stanley) of Franklinton; son, Bobby Yarborough (Deborah) of Raleigh; sisters, Hazel White and Ruth Pulley, both of East Orange, N.J.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
