WASHINGTON, DC- Celebration services for Dorothy Lamour Bowman, who died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Washington (D.C.) Hospice, will be held Saturday, July 16, at 11 a.m. at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Louisburg. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She owned and operated beauty salons in the District of Columbia and Maryland for many years.

Surviving: sisters, Mearlon Branch, Marie Mitchell, Odessa Foster and Yvonne Davis-Smith; brothers, Genatha Davis, Alfonso Davis and Joseph Davis.

Preceding her in death were here parents, Alvis and Viola Davis; sister, Dora McDonald; and brothers, Nathaniel, Herman T. and Bob.
