ANGIER - Christine Gardner, 80, died Thursday night, Aug. 25, 2011. Funeral service was held Sunday, Aug. 28, at Pleasant Union Christian Church, Lillington. Burial followed at Angier Cemetery.

A native of Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Florence Johnson Goodman.

Surviving: husband, John P. Gardner Jr.; daughters, Sherrie Pope (Hal) of Apex, Melody Rogers (Steve) of Leland, Ill., Lonna Gardner of Davidson, Camile Evans (James) of Louisburg; sons, John P. Gardner III (Deanna) of Greenville, S.C.; Jim Gardner (Ivonne) of Morelia, Mex.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Union Christian Church, Missions Program, 2164 Neill’s Creek Road, Lillington, NC 27546.
