DURHAM - Barbara Wright Mitchell, 80, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at her home. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 11, at Parkwood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Baggett officiating. Burial followed in Youngsville Town Cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Gladys Cone Wright and John Elmo Wright Sr. She worked at IBM for several years.

Surviving: husband, Charles Barrett Mitchell; daughter, Sherry Ann Whitfield (Keith) of Durham; sons, Barry Dean Mitchell (Caryl) of Charlotte, Jeffrey Brian Mitchell (Laurie) of Durham, and Steven Charles Mitchell of Youngsville; sister, Helen Butler (Talmadge) of Raleigh; brother, John E. Wright Jr. of Bunn; and seven grandchildren.
