FRANKLINTON —Betty B. Witherspoon, 57, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 1, at Westminister Evangelistic Church #2, Louisburg, with Evangelist Debra Wright officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Whellow ‘Lock’ Brodie Sr. and the late Ora Lee Brodie. She was employed for 31 years at Mallinckrodt in Raleigh. She served as Usher Board president, sang in the choir and was a member of the Pastor’s Aid ministry at Westminister Evangelistic Church #2.

Surviving: husband, Jeffrey Witherspoon; stepson, Richard ‘Cord’ Perry of Franklinton; father, Whellow ‘Lock’ Brodie Sr. of Franklinton; brother, Whellow Brodie Jr. of Franklinton; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
