LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Bertha Stokes Alston, 72, who died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating.

Surviving: daughters, Edna Perry, Patricia Hayes and Anna Person, all of Louisburg; sons, Dalton Alston of Youngsville, Harvey Alston of Louisburg, Alton Alston of the home; David Alston of Raleigh and Larry Alston of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Mary Crawford, of Staten Island, N.Y., Dorothy Person of Randallstown, Md., Beatrice Tucker of Essex, Md., and Claudia Diaz of Boston, Mass.; brothers, Jerry Thomas of Randallstown, Md., Morris Stokes of Henderson and James Stokes of Spartansburg, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Open visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
