KATHERINE H. O’NEAL


GREENSBORO - Katherine H. O’Neal, 85, of 6504 Glenbrooke Drive, Pleasant Garden, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 20, 2011.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, at Hall Wynne Funeral Home in Franklinton, NC. The burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery following the service.

Katherine was born January 6, 1926, to the late James B. Hudson and Edna Estelle Hudson. She attended school in Henderson, NC and later moved to Franklinton, NC, where she has many friends and family. She was married to Hal H. O’Neal from Wake County. Katherine and her husband lived in Greensboro for many years when Hal was transferred by Burlington Industries. She worked for Cone Mills for 15 years, and raised four children in Greensboro. Katherine loved to smile, crochet and visit family. She loved the Lord and her family above all else. She led a simple but full life and that is all anyone could ask for. She was loved by everyone that knew her and will be missed by everyone.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Hal; her parents; sisters, Emma and Margaret and brother, Bud.

She is survived by her very much loved children, Faye Campbell (Donnie), Hal “Frosty” O’Neal (Mary Jo), Jerry O’Neal (Wanda) and Jimmy O’Neal (Robin); sister, Lila Cassell of Woodruff, SC; brother, Robert Eugene Hudson; nine loved grandchildren, seven loved great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews as well as extended family that she also loved.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, November 23, from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 pm. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Testament Baptist Church Send A Kid To Camp Fund, 1404 West Vandalia Road, Greensboro, NC 27406 or to Jeff Pace, (ALS Patient) at 1870 Meadow Glen Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27217. Please make these checks payable to Jeff Pace. The kid’s camp checks may be made payable to New Testament Baptist Church with a note for kid’s camp.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the people at Moses Cone Hospital for their kindness to Mama during her illness.
