RALEIGH - Myrtle Ruth Cross, 85, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. Burial followed in Montlawn Cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County, daughter of the late Oscar and Pearl Bradford. She graduated from Hugh Morson High School. She and her husband, Charles, owned and operated Cross Poultry Company on Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh for more than 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Cross; sister, Cassie B. Mello.

Surviving: brothers, Oscar and Ed Bradford; sister, Dorothy B. Warren (Jimmy); four nieces; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of Myrtle.
