JAMES R. “BOB” HARRIS
CHESTERFIELD, Va. - James R. “Bob” “Handsome” Harris, 89, of Chesterfield, VA and a native of Bunn, NC, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 9, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his first and second wives, Edith E. Harris and Susie Harris; sisters, Joyce Benson and Pearl Gomo.

He is survived by his wife, Martha K. Harris; brother and sister-in-law, Roy C. and Betty  Harris of Garner. NC; stepdaughter, Joann Williams; grandson, Bronson Anderson; one nephew and two great-nieces. Bob was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, member and past master of Chesterfield Masonic Lodge #161 which has merged with Manchester #14, member of Richmond Scottish Rite bodies, Acca Temple Shrine and Legion of Honor. He was also a member and past Patron of Chesterfield Chapter #139 OES and a member of VFW Post 2163. Bob was a U.S. Army, WWII veteran, where he received the Purple Heart and a E.I. DuPont retiree. 

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 PM at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (rte. 10) with Masonic Service, Memorial Service and Military Honors beginning at 2 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children c/o Acca Temple P. O. Box 9217 Richmond, VA 23227.
