LOUISBURG – Ruth Griffin Wheeler, 77, of 3398 NC 581 Hwy., died Saturday.

Mrs. Wheeler was a daughter of the late Sidney and Mary Etta Coppedge Griffin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zeb D. Wheeler, and her brother, Morris Griffin.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Duke Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Edge officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Scarlett W. and Kevin Stevenson of Louisburg; brother and sister-in-law, Wilson and Betty Griffin of Lake Wells, FL; grandchildren, Danielle and Mary Elizabeth Stevenson.

The family received friends 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St. Louisburg.
