JAMES T. JEFFERIES


FRANKLINTON —James Thomas Jefferies, 60, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at Franklin Oaks of Louisburg. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 15, at Kinches Chapel Christian Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. Willie R. Nixon III officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

He was born in Granville County, the son Joseph and Ida Jefferies. He was employed for many years with Gordon Moore Logging Company of Franklinton and Floyd Edwards Grading and Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magalena Kearney Jefferies; a sister, Mary Louise Hunter; and a brother, David Lee Jefferies.

Surviving: son, James Earl Jefferies of Warrenton; father and mother, Joseph and Ida Jefferies of Franklinton; sisters, Betty Jean Jefferies, Nicole Foster and Sandra Jefferies, all of Franklinton, and Doris Jean Jefferies of the home; brothers, Louis and Thurston Jefferies, both of Franklinton; five nieces; four nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew; and a host of other relatives.
