RALEIGH - George Elliott Moore, 76, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at Oak Hill Living Center in Angier. A memorial service was held Thursday, Feb. 23, at Montlawn Funeral Home.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Moore and Katy Nell Bunn Moore.

Surviving: wife, Barbara Spivey Moore of Raleigh; daughter, Sharon M. Pullen (Robert) of Wake Forest; son, Todd Elliott Moore (Ginny) of Raleigh; and five grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, later becoming CEO of North Carolina Medical Society, retiring in 1993.
