ZEBULON – George Preston “G. P.” Massey, 92,  of the Pilot community, died Tuesday, April 3. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Pilot Baptist Church with burial following in the Massey Poole family cemetery.

He was a native of Franklin County and son to the late Joseph Preston and Bettie Bullock Massey.  He served his country in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II.  He was a charter member of the Pilot Lions Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Ruth Phillips Massey, and  a brother, Charles Massey.

Surviving: son, George Larry Massey (Terri) of Fuquay-Varina; siblings, Joseph H. Massey (Rachel) and Betty M. Richards (Ronald), all of Zebulon, Bobby B. Massey (Shirley) and Janet M. Morris (Macon), all of Pilot.

Flowers or memorials to Pilot Baptist Church, 8103 NC 39 S. Zebulon, NC 27597 are welcomed.
