RALEIGH - Charles Marion Baker Sr., 82, died Saturday, June 9, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The  family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

He was born in Raleigh to Ernest F. Baker Sr. and Alleen Prince. He began his career as a cartographer with the American Automobile Association. He retired from AAA management after 38 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest F. Baker Jr. and Robert Jackson, and his eldest daughter, Beverly Van Tassell.

Surviving: wife, Dorothy Jones Baker; children, Charles M. Baker Jr. of Louisburg and Diane Baker of Illinois; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
