FRANKLINTON - Virginia Hicks Smith, 86, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Service League of Inpatient Hospice in Greenville. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 22, at the Murfreesboro United Methodist Church, 313 W. High St., Murfreesboro, where she was an active member. A reception will immediately follow the service.

A small, intimate graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 23, in Franklinton. Attendees will gather at 11 a.m. at the Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel, 504 E. Mason St., Franklinton.

Surviving: daughters, Ann Lewis (Mark) of Fairfax, Va., Peggy Nace (Randy) of College Park, Md.; sons, Lee Etheridge (Shen Lih) of Dallas, Spencer Jackson of Biloxi, Miss.; brothers, Joe Hicks (Connie) of Greenville, John Hicks of Murfreesboro; sister, Betty Pate (Ken) of Ahoskie; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
