ZEBULON - Donald Jay Clarke, 76, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012. A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, Wendell.

He was born in Modesto, Calif., to the late Alfred and Bertha Beach Clarke. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force, where he served three tours in Vietnam.

Surviving: wife, Kathe Wunderlich Clarke; children, Donald Lynn Clarke of Sanford, Birgit Hendrickx (Stephen) of Zebulon; siblings, Robert Clarke (Maniyen), Linda Sylvera (Manuel); six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice of Wake County.
