LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Henry “Bear” Shields Jr., 81, who died Monday, July 30, 2012, will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 4, at Allen Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Claude Dunston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Carolyn Faye Hunter of Raleigh, Elizabeth F. Brodie, Barbara B. Thorne and Mary B. Harris, all of Louisburg, and Shirley Shields of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
