RUBY LINDA BRODIE


FRANKLINTON— Ruby Linda Brodie, 51, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at her home in Franklinton. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Woodland Chapel Baptist Church in Wake Forest, with the Rev. Curtis Perry officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

She was born in Wake County to the late Charlie Sr. and Nora Penny. She was a graduate of Wake Forest-Rolesville High School and a member of Woodland Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as an usher and Sunday school secretary. She was employed at Charter Trust and Banking for more than 10 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Betty Hayes, Sheila Sills and Nancy Moses.

Surviving: husband, Howard H. Brodie of the home; stepdaughters, Vanessa Brodie of Baltimore, Md., and Toshiba Rice (Bennie) of Knightdale; brother, Charlie Penny Jr. (Constance) of Raleigh; sisters, Mary Gregory (Jerry) of Henderson, Ann Pender (Jeff), Susan Penny (George) and Deborah Person (Johnny), all of Franklinton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
