KNIGHTDALE —George Marion Boone, 78, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012. A graveside service was held Friday, Aug. 31, at Duke Memorial Baptist Church, Spring Hope.

He was born in Franklin County to the late George Rex Boone and Ethel Mae Edwards. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving: sons, George Allen Boone (Carol) of Middlesex, Albert Lee Boone of Bunn; daughter, Debra Montague of Knightdale; two granddaughters, Katie Lynn Boone of Raleigh and  Christy Baldwin of Montana; sister, Hazel Tyson of Spring Hope; brother, Curtis Boone (Nellie) of Butner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Zidzik Boone; brother, James Boone; and sisters, Margaret Earp, Mildred Rice and Rachel Tant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
