MIDDLESEX - Ruby Mae Cone Strickland, 89, died Oct. 9, 2012. The family will be receiving friends at Spring Hope Funeral Home Thursday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m., with the  funeral service starting at 3 p.m. The Rev. Butch Gordon will be officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Cross Baptist Church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Strickland, and five brothers.

Surviving: daughters, Joan S. (Danny) Massey of Spring Hope, Linda S. (Eppie “E.C.”) Brown of Castalia; sisters, Nona Spencer of Butner and Sarah Bonneau of Durham; brother, Pete Cone of Middlesex; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
