WAKE FOREST - John W. Towner, 53, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 at his home in Wake Forest. A memorial service in his honor will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Mount Carmel Christian Church in Franklinton.

Born in Woodstock, Ill., he served in the U. S. Army for 13 years. He was formerly from Bangor, Pa., and moved to Wake Forest in early December. He was employed with the Department of Veterans in Lyons, N.J., for the past 12 years.

Surviving: his wife, Bonnie Towner of Jamison, Pa.; a son, Jason Thompson (Ellen) of Jamison, Pa.; sister, Linda Sharma of Wake Forest; half sister, Nancy Grubaugh of Decater, Ill. and twin granddaughters.
