LOUISBURG – Bertie Davis Bowden, 94, of Louisburg, died Wednesday evening. 

Mrs. Bowden was a daughter of the late Archie and Lilly Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis A. Bowden; sisters, Jessie Coltrane and Sally Rogers; brothers, Joe Davis, Herbert Davis and Roy Davis.

Mrs. Bowden was a loving mother and a good friend to all.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mrs. Bowden is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Odette B. Kennedy of Louisburg; Linda B. and Gordon Suhre of Marvin; sister, Mary Fenner Albes of Saddle Brook, NJ; grandson, Christopher Suhre; 3 great-grandchildren.
