LOUISBURG – Robert L. Wood, 79, of Louisburg, died Tuesday evening. He was a son of the late Howell and Bessie Wood and was preceded in death by his sisters, Rachel Champion, Myrtice Green, Jeffie Bailey; brother, Raeford Wood.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bobbie Wood; son, Randy Wood; daughter and son-in-law, Angelia and Ken Murray; grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew Murray, Brittany Wood and financé, Brad Strickland; great-granddaughter, Macy Strickland, all of Louisburg.
