CASTALIA - Gary Phillip Smith, 53, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007. A memorial service will be held today (Saturday, Jan. 27) at 7 p.m. at White Level Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara T. Smith, and father, Bruce Melvin Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Chad Smith (Sarah) of Castalia and Caleb Smith of the home; his mother, Delia L. Smith of Castalia; two brothers, Louis M. Smith (Charlene) of Castalia and H. Terry Smith (Leigh) of Franklinton; and one sister, Dale Hamilton (Malcolm) of Hanover, Pa.

The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. today at White Level Baptist Church fellowship hall and at all other times at the home of Louis and Charlene Smith, 501 Hwy. 58, Castalia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Nannie Wrenn, Memorials Chairperson, 748 N.C. Highway 561, Louisburg, NC 27549.
