YOUNGSVILLE - Richard Gerald Rock, 68, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007. A memorial service was conducted Thursday, Feb. 1, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Wendell.

He was a native of Erving, Mass. Mr. Rock was a superintendent with Lane Construction for more than 23 years and was also a woodworker.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ione Holland Rock, and brothers, Thomas and Harold.

Surviving: his wife, Carole Rock; sons, Thomas (Janet) of Zebulon, Daniel (Kaye) of Rocky Mount; father, Richard Rock of Erving, Mass.; and one grandchild.
