WILLIAM M. MORGAN


FRANKLINTON - William Moses Morgan, 75, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at his home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Hawkins Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. Walter S. Taylor officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

He was born to the late Vance Morgan and Lillie Rogers Morgan in Granville County. He was a tobaco farmer and later worked in the logging business.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fern and Ralph Morgan; three sisters, Earlene Allen, Alma Hilliard and Lillie Morgan.

Surviving: wife, Maxine Morgan of the home; daughters, Rebecca Henley of Philadelphia, Pa., Michelle Sneed of Franklinton and Cassandra Harris of Louisburg; son, Chris Wilkerson of Raleigh; stepson, Ronnie Harris of Franklinton; sister, Mattie Allen of Oxford; brothers, Frank Morgan (Bernice) and Vance Morgan, both of Wilson, Booker T. Morgan of Oxford, and Elder Walter Jackson of Hurdle Mills; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
