She was born to the late Frank John and Owen Elma Pulley Harris. In addition to her parents, her siblings, Herbert Harris, Harvey Harris, Anne Barnigan and Bertha Warstler, also preceded her in death. She was a member of Lakeside Lutheran Church and a for two years she worked full time as a registered nurse and part time from 1965 until 1982.
Surviving: husband, Rufus Coulter; her children, Ronald (Elizabeth) Coulter of Chapel Hill, Daniel (Linda) Coulter of Durham, Mark (Kathy) Coulter of Chapel Hill, Karen (Stan) Sherman of Wilmington, David (Karen) Coulter of Timberlake and John (Tammy) Coulter of Kernersville; siblings, Maude Minor, Mamie Willoughby, Willie Stoudt, Virginia Mohorn, Dorothy Ford, Erma Champion and Robert Harris; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
