LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Mary J. Clifton, 83, who died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Nelson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Emma Solomon officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Lucy Sampson (Sizwe) of Washington, D.C., Sebrenda Clifton of Durham and Dana Clifton of Louisburg; son, Ronnie M. Clifton (Janice) of Upper Marlboro, Md.; sisters, Fannie Conyers of Oxford, Sallie Driver of Louisburg and Josephine Wilkins of Raleigh; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Open visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
