LOUISBURG – Howard Lawrence Harrison, 73, of Louisburg, died Wednesday night.

Howard was a son of the late Edward R. and Mattie Lou Ransdell Harrison. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Helen Harrison and Jeanette Horton; his brother, Edward Harrison.

A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy P. Harrison; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jenny Harrison of Castalia; daughters and son-in-law, Pam and Stan Jenkins of Wake Forest; Shannon Nottingham of Youngsville; grandchildren, Sarah Jenkins, Madelynn Phillips, Tabitha Jenkins, Caelan Nottingham, Jacob Harrison, and Grace Harrison; great-grandchild, Chloe Harrison.

Howard was an excellent, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law. He retired from a rewarding career that he loved at Glaxo-SmithKline where he made many lasting friendships. Howard enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Howard was a strong Christian man that loved the Lord and his church. He served as an active Deacon at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church for over 30 years. Howard lived a wonderful life and fought a good fight. We are sure that he will hear the words “well done thy good and faithful servant.”
