RICHARD “RICK” JENKINS


FRANKLINTON —Richard “Rick” Jenkins died at his home Thursday, March 13, 2014. Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at Union View Baptist Church by the Rev. Jonathan Chandler.

He was a native of Mecklenburg County and was the son of Pearl Jones Snyder of Mt. Holly and the late Jack Jenkins. Rick was a veteran of the Marine Corps and attended Union View Baptist Church. He was known for being one of the most sought-after painters in the area.

Surviving:  his wife, Portia; daughters, Tonya Morgan (Andrew) of Raleigh and Kimberly Jenkins of Charlotte; sons,  Gregory Bobbitt of Wake Forest and Ricky Jenkins of Charlotte; sister, Coleen Bush (Jimmy) of Denver NC; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 16, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Hall Wynne Funeral Service Franklinton Chapel. At other times they will be at the home.
