WASHINGTON, DC-On April 18, 2014 Queen Evans “Betty” died at age 68 in Washington DC. Family visitation is Thursday,  April 24, 6-7 pm, at Hacketts Funeral Chapel, 814 Uphur St. NW, Washington, DC. Services and burial will be Saturday, April 26, 1 pm at St. Stephen Baptist Church, Inez (Warrenton) NC. Goodwill repass to follow at the church.

Born Queen E. Williams in Franklin County, she resided in Centerville,  Louisburg and  in recent years in Washington, DC.

Surviving: brothers and sisters, Augusta W. Jones,  Patience Griffin,  Thomas Williams of DC, Susie Alston,   Jimmy Williams and Willie Williams of Louisburg; sons, Ricky Evans of Washington and Kenneth Evans of NC; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews in Washington and Franklin County; and her close friend, Jerome McArthur of Maryland.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Angela Evans, and her sister, Mary Alice Moore, of Centerville and Louisburg.
