LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Jessie “Frog” Spencer, 89, who died Thursday, April 24, 2014, will be held Tuesday, April 29, at 3 p.m. at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Emma Solomon officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Church cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Patricia Owens (George) of Newark, N.J., Vivian Hart (Randolph) of Oxford, and Bessie Patterson of Charlottesville, Va.; sons, Jessie Spencer Jr. and Edward Spencer (Marian), all of Louisburg, John Alston of Portland, Me., William Spencer (Zalnipiki) of Oxford and Larry Spencer (Tina) of Charlottesville, Va.; sisters, Annie Bell Wilson and Mary Umstead, both of Oxford; brother, Edward Spencer of Wilton; 30 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Open visitation will be held Monday, April 28, 3 to 7 p.m., at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
