Laymen’s League
The Hickory Grove Laymen’s League Ministry will celebrate its anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 4 p.m. The Rev. K.G. Hall, the Faith Missionary Baptist Church Male Choir and Jones Chapel Male Choir will be guests.

Musical program
Westminister Evangelistic Church #2 Women’s Fellowship will be hosting a musical program Sunday, Aug. 24, at 5 p.m. The featured performers will be the “Singing Deacons” from Franklinton. Also appearing will be the Westminister Evangelistic Church#2 Male Chorus.

Vendors needed
Maple Springs Baptist Church will host its fifth annual Holiday Bazaar on Nov. 7 and 8. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor, please contact Shirley “Crickett” Fuller at (919) 497-6037 for information and an application.

Special program
The Pastor’s Aide Ministry of Mitchell Missionary Baptist Church of Louisburg will celebrate its annual Men and Women in White program on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 3 p.m.
Several choirs and soloists have been invited to render music. All Pastor’s Aide ministries of local churches are welcome to walk in the processional and sit with the Mitchell Baptist Pastor’s Aide group. Please wear white if possible.

Sunday service
The speaker for the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Aug. 24, at New Birth Christian Temple, 525 S. Main St., Franklinton, will be the Rev. Gertrude Jones, associate minister of New Birth. Music will be rendered by the Senior Choir.

Back-to-School Rally
A Back-to-School Youth Rally will be held at Concord Missionary Baptist Church, 810 Walter Grissom Road, Kittrell, on Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme is “It’s Working.”
There will be topics for youth and parents, along with snacks, and lunch will be served. Speakers will include Nathan Baskerville, Corey Baker, Reginald Shearin, Patricia Burnette Chastain, Sharhonda Cooper, and others.

Choir anniversary
The South Main Street Missionary Baptist Church Inspirational Choir will celebrate its anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 24, at 3 p.m.
On Saturday night, Elder Dexter Perry, his choir and congregation from Greater New Life Ministries (Franklinton) will be guests. On Sunday, the Jones Chapel Choirs (Warren and Franklin County) and Shady Grove Mass Choir are invited guest choirs.
Also, a Reunion Choir is being formed to sing on Sunday. All former members of the Inspirational Choir are invited to sing in the Reunion Choir.

Homecoming/Revival
Mitchiner’s Grove Baptist Church will celebrate its 100th Church Anniversary and Homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Lafayette Maxwell will be the guest preacher for the morning worship service.
Revival services at Mitchiner’s Grove will be held Aug. 27-29 at 7:30 nightly.

Pastor’s Aid program
The Pastor’s Aid Ministry of Nelson Chapel Baptist Church will have its annual program on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 4 p.m.
The Rev. Sylvester White, pastor of Cedar Rock Baptist Church, will be the speaker. His choir will accompany him.

Special observance
First Baptist Church, Franklinton, will observe its annual Deacons’, Trustees’ and Deaconesses’ Day on Sunday, Aug. 24, during the worship service at 11 a.m.
Pastor André L. Johnson will deliver the message and the Chancellor Choir will render the music.

Revival
Allen Metropolitan AME Zion Church, Franklinton, will have annual revival services on Aug. 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m., with the Rev. Dexter Perry of Greater New Life Ministries, Franklinton, as evangelist. His choirs will accompany him.

Homecoming/Revival
St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church (Inez) will celebrate its 57th Homecoming service on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. The theme is “You Can Come Home Again.”
The Rev. Junious M. Debnam will be the homecoming speaker and music will be rendered by the St. Stephen Youth Choir and soloist Garlinda Keene, with special music performed by the Safeway Travelers.
The mistress of ceremonies will be Bernadine Perry-Davis of Pine Forge, Pa., formerly of Warren County.
She is a former member of St. Stephen where she was actively involved in various activities of the church. She is married and has an adult daughter and three grandsons.
Revival services at St. Stephen will be held Aug. 26-29 at 7 p.m. Guest speakers, accompanied by their congregations, will be as follows: Tuesday night, Pastor Spotswood Burwell and the New Hope MBC Family, Oxford; Wednesday, Pastor Emery E. Jones and the Fork Chapel Family, Warrenton; Thursday, Pastor Clarence Cooper and the Remnant of His Seeds Ministry, Centerville; and Friday, Pastor George C. Wright and the Spring Green Church Family, Warrenton.
