The annual Homecoming celebration will be observed at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Gillburg community on Sunday, June 24, at 11 a.m.
The speaker will be Pastor Charles Thompson Sr., senior pastor of Sandy Grove. Music will be provided by the Sandy Grove Mass Choir and a solo by Sister Jessica Foster. Dinner will be served in the fellowship hall.

Revival services
Revival services at Sandy Grove will be held Tuesday-Friday, June 26-29, at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. William Ragland Sr., pastor of St. John United Holy Church, Chapel Hill.
Music will be provided by the Gospel Choir of Rowland Chapel Church of Henderson, the United Voices Choir of Concord Missionary Baptist Church of Kittrell, the Senior Choir of Spring Street MBC of Henderson, and the St. John United Holy Choir of Chapel Hill.

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School at Nelson Chapel Baptist Church began June 18 and will continue through June 22 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is "Follow the Leader."

Student recognition
Nelson Chapel Baptist Church will recognize students for their accomplishments and achievements during the past year on Sunday, June 24, during the 11:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Micah Mason will be the speaker.

New church
The Word Is Life Church was started recently in Franklinton, located at 326 S. Main at College Street. Bessie Watkins is foundeer and pastor.
Sunday school is held at 9:30 a.m., Sunday worship service at 11 a.m., and Bible Study will be held at 6 p.m. each Thursday.

'Old Ship of Zion'
Hawkins Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2199 Grove Hill Road, Franklinton, will host the play "Old Ship of Zion" on Sunday, June 24, at 3 p.m. This will be a fundraising program for the church.

Youth Day
First Baptist Church, Franklinton, will celebrate its quarterly Youth Day Worship Service/Graduates' Recognition Day on Sunday, June 24, at 11 a.m. Pastor André L. Johnson will deliver the message and the Junior Choir will render the music.

Youth/Education Day
Youth and Education Day will be held at Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, June 24, during the regular 9 a.m. worship service. Students will be recognized from Pre-K through college during the past school year.
The speaker will be the Rev. T. J. Walker Jr., the son of Dr. Timothy J. Walker Sr. Music will be by the Walnut Grove Youth Choir.

Children's Day
Allen Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Children's Day on Sunday, June 24, at 10:45 a.m.
Minister Adrian Davis, associate minister of Spring Street Baptist Church, Henderson, will be the guest speaker.

Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 148 Jones Chapel Road, Louisburg, will celebrate its annual Homecoming/Church Anniversary on June 24 at 11 a.m. Pastor Hosie T. Starr III will deliver the sermon and dinner will be served following the service.
Revival services at Jones Chapel will be held June 26-29 at 7 p.m. The Rev. Thomas Richardson of St. Paul Baptist Church in Warrenton will be the revivalist for the week.

Choir anniversary
The Haywood Baptist Church Mass Choir will observe its 24th anniversary on Sunday, June 24, at 3 p.m.
Appearing on the program are Creative Ministry, the Haywood Baptist Church Male Choir, and others. Haywood Baptist Church is located at 149 Rocky Ford Road, Louisburg.

Pilot Missionary Baptist Church is having its annual revival. Services began Wednesday, June 20, and will continue through Friday, June 22, at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Belcher, associate minister of Zebulon First Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.
