ALICE R. HAWKINS


LOUISBURG - Alice Rogers Hawkins, 89, formerly of Kenmore Avenue and later a resident at Hillside Nursing Facility in Wake Forest, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at Wake Medical Center. A celebration of her life was held Friday, March 9, at Kittrell First Baptist Church, Kittrell.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Noel Clifford Hawkins and Kermit M. Boyd; her parents, George Clifton Rogers and Esther Elizabeth Burwell Rogers; sisters, Annie Turner and Mozelle Carter; and brother, Thomas Rogers.

Surviving: daughter, Marie Celeste Stallings of Henderson; twin sons, Thomas C. Hawkins of Denver, Colo., Clifford P. Hawkins (Joyce Hooks-Hawkins) of Raleigh; sisters, Geneva Suitt of Oxford, Marceline Rollins of Baltimore, Md., Shirley Flemming of Raleigh, Dr. Christopher Rogers of Las Vegas, Nev., Morris Rogers of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
