LOUISBURG - William Donald Wester, 84, of Louisburg, died Tuesday morning.

Donald was the son of the late Forest and Merle Wester. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Champion.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Havens officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Donald is survived by his wife, Janet L. Wester; daughter, Hope Wester of Henderson; sons and daughters-in-law, Len and Dot Wester of Louisburg; Barry and Anne Wester of Bath; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Ray Akkerman of Louisburg; grandchildren, Travis Wester (Jenny); Brooks Smith (Tim); Cassie Joyner (Kyle); Natalie Farmer (Jason); Jamie Weaver; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Carter, Alex, Grayson, Lily, Emily, and Noah.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Eastern North Carolina, 3739 National Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27612.
