ELIZABETH FULLER HOUSE


LOUISBURG - Elizabeth Fuller House, 56, died in Greensboro on Oct. 3, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Louisburg.  The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall immediately following the service.

She was a daughter of the late Douglas T. and Jane R. House, both of Louisburg.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jane-Waring Wheeler of Seven Paths.  During her childhood, Elizabeth was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Louisburg. 

She was a graduate of UNC-Greensboro, where she majored in journalism.  She went to work afterwards for the Greensboro News-Record, where she worked in various positions including sports reporter. She covered the stories of the National Champion men's soccer teams at UNC-G in the mid-1980's. Her colleagues, as well as her friends in the UNC-G Athletic Department, credited House with helping those teams to gain national attention. This was acknowledged by her induction into the UNC-G Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003.


House moved to Honolulu in 1993 and continued her career at the Honolulu Advertiser, where she worked as a page designer and copy editor.  

Surviving: brothers Kirk (Judy) House of Winston-Salem and Walter (Essie) House of Marshallberg; three nieces and two nephews.
