CATAWBA - Ruth Elaine Hamlet Mullins, age 89, of Catawba passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Sherrills Ford. Born April 24, 1925 in Louisburg, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James Hamlet and Mary Tempielane Burnette Hamlet. Ruth was member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and retired from Southern Furniture.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Roger Mullins, 2 sisters, Beanie Underwood and Mollie Cunningham and 2 brothers, Ray and J. K. Hamlet.

She is survived by: Daughters: Brenda Edwards and husband Doug of Arden, NC and Bobbi Beard and husband Tim of Catawba; 3 Grandchildren: Travis Beard and wife Angela of Newton, Sarah Beard of Catawba and Paige Epley of Sylva, NC; Great-Grandson: Hank Houston; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Pisgah United Methodist Church in Catawba with Rev. Buddy Compton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 2:30- 3:45 p.m. at the church.
