YOUNGSVILLE-Claude Vincent Deats Jr., 87, died Friday morning, July 10, 2015 at his home. He was born in Endicott, N.Y., the son of the late Frances and Claude V. Deats Sr., and was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War.

He was a retired engineer with IBM and was a member of Youngsville Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, July 12, 2015 at Youngsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Haley officiating. Burial was in the Youngsville Cemetery with military honors.

Surviving: his wife, Rhea S. Deats; son, Mark Deats (Rachelle) of Youngsville; and two grandchildren.
