LOUISBURG - Evelyn Marshall Bumgarner, 85, of 875 Alert Rd, died Monday morning. She was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Journigan Marshall. Mrs. Bumgarner retired from Franklin County Department of Social Service with 30 years of service.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul Dean Bumgarner; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Ben Baker; grandchildren, Jamie Baker Sloop and husband, Michael, and Jennifer Baker of Raleigh; great-granchildren, Ava and Koy Sloop, Hunter and Ethan Nordan.

The family will receive friends Thursday 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service and other times at the home of Angela and Ben Baker, 1809 NC 56 Hwy E., Louisburg.
