LOUISBURG - David Eugene Dickerson, 64, of Louisburg, died Thursday morning.

Eugene was preceded in death by his father, David Dickerson. He was a retired correctional officer from the NC Department of Corrections.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 11, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Melton Tyson officiating. Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Eugene is survived by his mother, Marjorie L. Dickerson; sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne D. and Larry Ayscue; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Kelly Dickerson, all of Louisburg; nieces, Cassie Dickerson, Catrice A. Walker and husband, Shane.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Cr., Raleigh, NC 27607.
