FRANKLINTON - Irene Elizabeth Parker, 78, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 6, at First United Church of Christ, Franklinton, with Elder Cullus Dunston officiating. Interment was in the Manasseh Chapel Baptist Church cemetery, Franklinton.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Esther Cooke Blacknall.

Surviving: her husband, Eddie J. Parker Sr. of the home; sons, Richard Parker of Hyattsville, Md., Eddie J. Parker Jr., Michael (Lolita) Parker, and Deryell (Alisa) Parker, all of Franklinton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
