LOUISBURG - Hilda Mae Smith, 85, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 12, 2016 at Wake Med. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cedar Rock First Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

She was a daughter of the late Lennie and Dellie Collins Wood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood L. Smith; daughter, Portia S. Ross, and her son, Bobby Smith.

Surviving: son, Woody (Shelly) Smith; daughter, Linda (Benjie) Marshall, all of Louisburg; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
