LOUISBURG - Doris Strange Phelps, 89, of Louisburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016.

Mrs. Phelps was a daughter of the late Walter E. and Emma D. Strange. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Everet Phelps, Sr.; sister, Josephine Southall and three grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Maple Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Havens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Phelps is survived by her, daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Daylon Inscoe; Karen and Bennie Fuller; sons and daughters-in-law, George and Vicki Phelps Jr.; Tommy and Diane Phelps; Steve Phelps and Kim Stone, all of Louisburg; sister, Emma Leigh Stallings of Oxford; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, Illinois 60611-3201.
