FRANKLIN, Va. - Alda May Blythe, 85, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Britthaven of the Outer Banks in Nags Head. A funeral service was conducted Friday, April 20, at Wright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mary Marshall and Donald T. Blythe Sr. officiating. Burial followed in Poplar Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Blythe was born in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Zollie Thomas and Elsie Pearce May. She was a retired LPN.

Surviving: three daughters, Carolyn B. Bland (James) of Sedley, Va., Brenda B. Holland of Carrsville, Va., and Arlene B. Palmer (Top) of Nags Head; sons, William K. Blythe Jr. (Karen) of Courtland, Va., Donald T. Blythe Sr. (Lynn) of Franklin, Va.; sisters, Lois M. Jones and Joyce M. Stanley (Robert), all of Swansboro, Senora M. Wheless (James) of Louisburg; brothers, Claude T. May (Madie) of Raleigh, Adrian May (Alice) of Scotland Neck; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Blythe was predeceased by a son, Douglas T. Blythe; a sister, Claire May; a brother, A. K. May.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
