WAKE FOREST - Esther M. Battista, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest. The Rev. Robert Faile will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

She was born in Franklin County to the late Herbert and Rosa Green Moore. She worked at Eckerd Drugs for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Battista; brothers, Richard, Howard, Wilbert, Clarence and C.A. Moore; and a sister, Pauline Jones

Surviving: her former husband, Jimmie Kearney Sr. of Franklinton; sons, Curtis O'Neal (Suzy) of Youngsville, Jimmie Kearney Jr. (Debra) of Castalia, Ricky Kearney of Raleigh, Ronald Kearney of Garner; a brother, Bruce Moore (Cleona) of Sanford; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will be present from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Bright Funeral Home, 405 South Main St., Wake Forest.
